Something New...

I've started a new doily pattern that I found on the InTatters library. It's Norwegian so it's been tons of fun. I'm make the picots pretty good size so it'll look really lacey.

I Got My First Car!!

I picked up my first Car last night! It's a silver/beige 1995 Toyota Camry. I love love love it! My good friend Sarah had it before me and she has always called it 'Amy' because the letters on the back that spelled "Camry" fell off and just AMY was left! So now I own little Amy and have been so blessed by Sarah! I can't thank you enough!! I put gas in it for the first time today and now we're ready to go a'rocking down the highway!!!

More Earrings and a time to breathe!

Alright....here are some of the last pieces that I've been working on that will also be up for sale.

I'm finishing up my InTatters Exchanges and then Mom says that I need to take a break and give my brain a rest. It's funny because now I have really good ideas! So I'll just write them down and tuck them away for later.

Hot Off the Press!

The more that I use my 'Lizbeth thread the more and more I love it! I'm making a ton of earrings so that I can start up my own Etsy. Here is my newest pattern that I made (literally, I made it this morning!) The bottom bead-work is from a clover edging that I got when I first started tatting. Theses are going to my mom. She is wearing them to work today in hope to advertise for me a bit! I've even given her some of my cards to hand out!
These were my weekend project. I love how the colors came out and if I had to name these I think I'd call them 'Irish Gold' or 'Forrest Dew' something to do with dew and a green color. Suggestions are welcome!!! LOL!
Up next will be purple! I'll use the rings and the pattern above. Golly, how fun this is!!

Needle Tatting

I've started foolin' around with needle tatting. It's pretty fun, and FAST! I'm not missing winding my shuttles! For now I can do simple rings (I attempted a butterfly) and next I will research how to do chains. The weather here in Illinois has been very stormy and I have the weekend off work so I'm going to tat all day! hurray!

Oh and here is just a sneek-peek of what else I've been up too........more to come! :)

Shopping!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got to Hobby Lobby today! They now carry the 'Lizbeth thread and I was so excited to buy some! I got a green, purple, and black. There was also a little ball of size 80 on sale so that's gonna be soooo fun to try! I also picked up some plastic rings to cover and a set of Handy Hands Tatting Needles. The set included 4 different sized-needles so I can't wait to start using them. I then headed over to Michaels to look for tear-drop beads, because Hobby Lobby had nothin', and walked out spending $12.00 on beads and charms! After trying Yarnplayers (here is her blog: http://yarnplayertats.blogspot.com/) "Dream" pattern I'm on a jewelry craze! So the tear-drop beads will go an a pair of earrings or on a pendant. It's gonna be fun so I'll keep you updated!

Butterflies!

The June Exchange on InTatters is on butterflies! I participated in the May exchange and am so excited about this one. So, I've started my projects for my two partners.
Oh! and I made another Celtic knot! This one I got off of a soap mold that my mom made so I actually pinned the long chain to the soap and tied it as I go. So that's why it looks a little funny.

I'm also trying my hand at YarnPlayer's "Dream" pattern. I saw this on her blog and printed it off because it's so pretty and I just had to try it!

I have next weekend off of work so, I believe that I'll go on that long awaited HobbyLobby shopping spree with gift cards, and coupons, oh my!!

I've done it!

I learned how to tat split rings! I'm so thrilled! I used Jane Eborall's instructions found here (http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~nickeb/SplitRings.pdf) Her instructions are so great, I use her website for everything! There were quite a few patterns that I wasn't able to try out before and now I'm so excited to start them. I'm kinda glad that the weather is crummy outside because I have an excuse to tat!

Celtic Crazy!!

I have had such a knack for Celtic stuff lately! I'll google 'Celtic knots' and then try to create them with really long chains. It's too fun. I've never really created a pattern before so this is a new frontier for me. Here are some pics of what I've been messing around with...

sorry that the quality of the pics are not so great. My sister has the camera this weekend so I'm using an old Vivitar.

Workin' on......

I've gone back through my files and found the pattern for the daffodil doily (pictured on the right side) and I'm going to be adding the fourth and fifth rounds. I'm working on it while I'm on my work breaks so that keeps me sharp during the day. I'll post pictures later! Thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes yesterday!
Much love,
Allison
