So Excited!!!

I'm super excited!!! At my new job on the third Sunday of every month we have a garden show where we offer classes (this last month's was container gardens and composting with worms). Next month I will join the ranks of some of the other local artists and show and sell some tatting!!! The gals at work were totally amazed at some of the lace I brought to show them one night. One gal even had an idea to make older Victorian hair pieces!
So my current projects are making earrings, bookmarks, and headbands! What fun! I'm using the centers of doilies (if they are small enough) and reworking edgings to come up with some fun and unique earring patterns. Pictures to come! But there's lots to tat first! ;) Have a great day, and may all your tatting journeys be blessed!

A Sweet Thank-You gift!

My mom totally surprised me with a bag of goodies for taking such good care of the farm while mom and Lea where away. I got Barbara Foster's Embellishing with Edgings book and I just LOVE  it!!! She also got me three new Lizbeth colors: Vineyard Harvest (#131), Antique Violet Med (#640), and Seagreen Light (686). And to make it the perfect gift bag she included a 9.5" X 9.5" square white cotton hankie! I'm planning on making edging #15 (pictured in blue on the front cover of the book) in my favorite light green color. There is a little embroidered flower pattern on a corner and I think I'll just stitch my own thread over the existing pattern to tie in the color! What good fun! Hope you all are having a terrific Thursday! Love from the Midwest,

Fun little designs...

It's been a rainy weekend here in Northern Illinois. My mom and sister are away in Florida for my sister's school so dad and I are holding down the fort at home. Dad and I always have a good time when they are gone. Last night we made home-made deep dish pizzas and watched a Star Wars movie :) So naturally I had plenty of time to tat. Here is a picture of the coronet doilies I'm working on.  I'm thinking the green and pink will be a good Mother's Day gift!!! I'm off to feed the horses! Have a thrilling Thursday!!!
