Tatting a 'wheel'

Hey, anybody every heard of tatting a medallion with a 'wheel' in it? I have a picture of one from an old book and am trying it out. I've replicated the pattern from the photo. (My computer is having issues, so I'll post pictures later) From the diagram it looks that you start it a center ring with very long picots. Then the next round attaches to the center, but you cross your picots. The effect is really cool!

3/29: Here is the picture! i forgot to add it! sorry!

In a traditional tatted wheel you start with a central ring and cut the thread. Then working with just the shuttle you make a small ring joining it to a picot of the cenral ring, reverse work leaving a short stretch of bare thread and then make another larger ring. Reverse work again and make another small ring joining it to the next free picot on the central ring, reverse work again and make another large ring joining it to the first large ring. Keep repeating until you are back at the beginning. Later versions incorporate split rings so that you don't have so many thread ends to hide. More inforation can be found here:
