Thinking about Valentines day...

It was a great day to work with BEADS! These little motifs are Le Blog de Frivole's December Motif. Beads were part of my Improvement list and so far I'm making slow progress. This pattern calls for a long picot in the first round with beads added to that picot via crochet hook in the second round. Unfortunately the beads I was using are too small to fit over my smallest crochet hook. So I had to get creative to string the beads onto the picot before joining. The white one used the directions for the beads, where I experimented with pink motif and red beads. By placing the beads on the ball thread, I added them to the picot in each chain that way. For the next couple motifs, perhaps I'll go up a bead size so they fit on my crochet hook.
Using the pink thread got me thinking about Valentines Day. I'll have to try some heart patterns and add some beads.Cherrio for now!

Lovely! I used to tat a bit eons ago. I bought a shuttle and tried it again, I need practice and am not sure I am doing it correctly. Need to find something on Utube to teach me!

Your little stars are sooo beautiful! For threaeding beads ión the picot or on the thread try a peace of sewing thread or invisible nylon thread, or a thin peace of wire manipulated as a hairpin, if your hook is not thin enough!
Always a bead on the thread Gunhild

Hmm. The pink looks like a candy snowflake. Yummy. Nice work, Allison.

Thanks for visiting 'my Heritage Happens!!!' There are some great tuttorials on YouTube; tatting is all about the 'flip' in the stitches. Once you master that, you are on your way to tatting forever!

Gunhild, what great advice! I'll give anything a try at this point!

Thank you Margaret! We tatters are a creative bunch when it comes to figuring such things out! :)

Thanks God's Kid and Tatknot! That pink thread does look yummy now that you mention it!
